Special hours and closure management

When to use special hours

Public holidays, private events, or kitchen maintenance need exceptions. Define a single day or range on the calendar.

Partial closure, e.g. dinner only. Uses time ranges. Lunch open, dinner closed is a common pattern.

Adding from the calendar

Settings → Reservations → Calendar → Add Special Day. Pick date, label, and closed / limited mode. Per-area hours differ, terrace closed, dining open.

Recurring rules cover annual holidays without yearly manual entry.

What happens to bookings on a closed day?

Confirmed bookings on a closed day trigger panel warnings. Do not confirm closure until you send bulk cancel or offer alternative times.

Use the Special Day Cancellation template with a clear guest-facing reason. Deposit refunds may be automatic or manual per your settings.

Channel sync

Google Reserve and widget read the same calendar. External channel lag after adding a closure is rare and usually under an hour.

Event mode can enforce fixed party size and menu, link to a booking rules profile.

Operations checklist

Add closures a week ahead, last-minute shuts drive complaints. Social posts are outside the panel but recommended.

Do not delete calendar entries after the day. They archive for reporting.
