Booking rules: capacity and slot settings

Core concepts

A slot is a bookable time slice, e.g. 7:00 PM or 7:30 PM. Turn time is how long the table stays committed; a 90-minute turn locks the table until 8:30 PM for a 7:00 PM booking.

Min and max party size limit form choices. Set per-area differences, bar min 1, private room min 6.

How do I set slot intervals and capacity limits?

Choose 15- or 30-minute intervals. Finer grids offer more choice but increase kitchen load; most venues start at 30 minutes. Turn time is commonly 60–120 minutes.

Add a 15-minute buffer between turns for reset. Area quotas, e.g. terrace 40%, dining room 60%, balance how many bookings fit each service slice.

Peak-hour profile

Create a separate profile for Fri–Sat 7–9 PM: longer turns, higher minimum party, or approval queue only.

Profiles switch automatically. No manual clock changes. Assign holiday profiles for special dates.

Cross-channel consistency

Google, widget, and QR share the same engine. Manual panel bookings show capacity warnings, override is Host and Admin only.

Overrides log to audit, review weekly to prevent abuse.

Test before go-live

After changes, test the widget with varied party sizes and times. Confirm full slots disable and minimum party blocks work.

Mid-service edits do not alter existing bookings; shorter turn times apply only to new requests.
