Waitlist flow and auto-offer

When to use the waitlist

Turn it on when booking capacity is full or during walk-in-only periods. Guests leave a phone number and get notified when a slot opens.

Entries come from the host panel or self-service via QR and widget. Each entry includes party size and preferred area.

Signup and queue notifications

Set active hours and max queue length under Operations → Waitlist → Settings. Customize SMS copy under Notifications.

Guests see an estimated wait on signup. The estimate updates based on actual seating pace.

How does automatic table offer work?

After a cancel or no-show, the system can offer the slot to the next eligible guest. Enable Operations → Waitlist → Auto-offer.

Set the offer window between ten and thirty minutes. Party size must fit table capacity; if the guest declines, queue position may stay or drop per your setting. Hosts see a countdown on the panel.

Host team responsibilities

When an offer is sent, the table is held from walk-ins. Do not seat others until the guest responds.

If the guest no-shows, mark Did not arrive; repeat entries can trigger restrictions.

Reporting

Reports → Operations → Waitlist shows conversion: seated vs declined offers.

Review queue length on busy days to plan staffing or capacity tweaks.
